How to improve my score on Open School courses

How to retake an Open School test

The assessments at the end of every lesson in an Open School course are designed to solidify your learning – not to trick you. You must achieve a score of 80% (in other words, 4 of 5 questions correct for a score of 20/25) to pass the assessment and complete the lesson. However, you can retake the assessments as many times as you like until you’re satisfied with your score. You can think of these as “open-book” quizzes, and we encourage you to take the assessments multiple times to better absorb the answers and understand the concepts more deeply.

To retake an Open School test:

  1. From the post-lesson assessment, click “Retake”

How to restart a course

If you’d like to reset a course score, you can unenroll then enroll again. However, you can only do this with a course that is in progress – not one you have fully completed.

  1. Go to your Learning Center
  2. Click on the icon to the right of the Resume button
  3. Click Unenroll.
  4. Go back to the Catalog and Enroll in the course again.
  5. Go back the the Learning Center to restart the course.
NOTE: Restarting a course is only possible if you have not completed it yet. Once you complete a course, you can't restart it to clear out the course scores or reset the completion date. You may continue to access the course, but your completions are set by that point.
